Aurora Borealis: A Reminder to Expand Our Perception

Seeing the Northern Lights sky show during the solar flares on May 10, 2024 was like science fiction fantasy.

In my experience with eclipses and solar flares, it seems light transforms every aspect of a living environment so when these major sky events have occurred, the wildlife is silent. And the air is still. On this night there wasn’t a nightlife sound or even a tickle of breeze.

Through a cloud of Cherry Moon smoke, the night sky sizzled with light vibrating in from the north, leaking down in mystic streaks exposing a backlit universe. It was different and elevating, inspiring reverence.

It was not until scrolling through my phone’s fantastic aurora borealis planetarium still images that I realized how little we were seeing. Seeking to learn more about this phenomenon, it appears humans rarely see these dramatic light shows in full spectrum color with the naked eye.

Perhaps the most impactful message received was the reminder that our physical perception is bound to our sensory limitations. There is so much more that exists beyond our sensory perception.

What’s Going On The Farm

Late spring is time for broad sweeping views and detailed close ups, for thinking slowly and moving fast. A daily process of forecasting forward over the season to make all of the impactful decisions.

The sky a persistent blue with temperatures rising into the 80’s and the last snow caps have melted away in the distance. Where we place our time and attention depends on daily observations, as the environmental forces ebb and flow.

We’re in week one of flower with Golden Lion’s Pleasurez genetic. This stout sweet and gassy plant takes time in vegetation with energy filling it’s thick stems and full leaves. We’ve been standing by watching, waiting for this summer harvest dep plant to show her feminine expression and here she is!

A blend of perennial plant flowers bloom in concert with dramatic entrances and exits in a dance beyond choreography. I love all of these flowers in full expression yet there is only one that fills my heart’s purpose and truest love and that’s Cannabis.
